These Grumman Flxible 870's are very rare buses in Canada with only a few in Alberta and a small bunch in Ontario. I believe the ones running here in Fort McMurray are the only ones left running in Canada as apparently all the ones in Ontario have already been retired from service. #706 is the former San Diego North County fleet number which had not been removed from this vehicle as it sits in the Fort McMurray Transit Yard on June 16, 1999. At the time of the photo, I was told that this bus was to be rebuilt and enter service as #1937 for Fort McMurray Transit, But since then I assume that it was decided to keep this unit for parts as parts are hard to come by in Canada for these rare buses.
